Paris Saint-Germain formalized its third recruit the other day, RB Leipzig’s all-round defender – Nordi Mukiele.
Mukiele scored 10 goals and had 11 assists in 146 appearances for RB Leipzig and helped the German club win the German Cup in May. He also represented France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifier against Finland in September 2021, Mukiele’s first and only cap for the national team.
Nordi Mukiele can play as central defender or right piston in a number of different systems. In the 2021-2022 season, he played a total of 37 games, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists. His tactical plasticity is intrigued by Christophe Galtier, who will see him as a good replacement for Paris Saint-Germain’s only right-back, Ashraf Hakimi. So, when Nordi Mukiele was hungry for a new challenge after four seasons with the German club, Paris Saint-Germain was quick to jump at the opportunity.
“Playing for your hometown team is obviously a dream. Playing for Paris is a massive honor for me, for my friends and for my family, and I’m really happy to have worked so hard to be here today”.
“Being at Paris Saint-Germain, one of the best clubs in the world, shows that the work that I’ve done in the last few years has been rewarded.”
